Introduction:

At Huuuge Games we make top grossing mobile games that bring people together through fun and social mobile gaming. 

We're looking for an experienced Senior Data Engineer to join our team. In this role, you will take ownership of processing massive datasets to build and architect scalable simulation models. With more than 1B events daily , your primary tasks will go beyond simple processing; you will drive architectural decisions, optimize performance at scale, and lead the technical design of solutions that simulate user behavior. You will be a key player in determining how our systems react to changes in game configuration

How will you make an impact with us? 

  • Architectural Leadership: Lead the design and development of advanced simulators in the Databricks environment. You will define the technical architecture and implement complex business logic using Scala and Apache Spark.

  • Performance & Optimization: Take ownership of code performance and cost-efficiency. You will optimize complex data processing pipelines and Spark jobs, diagnosing deep-level errors and ensuring scalability for massive datasets.

  • Code Quality & Standards: Set the standard for engineering excellence. drive code reviews, design patterns, and ensure high quality by implementing advanced unit/integration testing strategies.

  • Mentoring & Knowledge Sharing: Mentor mid-level and junior developers, conducting code reviews and facilitating knowledge transfer to elevate the team's technical capabilities.

  • Advanced Data Curation: Architect robust ETL/ELT processes for the preparation and transformation of petabytes of data for simulation purposes.

  • Strategic Collaboration: Partner closely with Data Program Manager and Stakeholders to translate high-level business requirements into technical specifications and present architectural solutions.

Job requirements

This is the right job for you if you have:

  • 4+ years of commercial experience in software engineering (Java/Scala/Python), with a strong focus on the JVM ecosystem.

  • 3+ years of hands-on experience working with Scala and Apache Spark in a production environment

  • Expert understanding of Big Data architectures, distributed systems, and Spark internals (Catalyst Optimizer, memory management, partitioning).

  • Advanced SQL skills and experience with complex data modeling.

  • Experience with cloud platforms (AWS/Azure/GCP) and CI/CD best practices.
